I also use a 10 year old android phone as my alarm, mainly to be able to pick whatever song I want to wake up to. That’s why I do not understand why OP is using Piezo as their ringtone. That must be the most annoying sound ever!
There used to be smartphones with rtc wakeup (ultra low power built in clock that can turn on the phone at a given time even when fully off) and its a fucking joke that this doesnt exist anymore. Why tf would i want my phone to be always on?
As depressing as it sounds, the average user wants to get constant notifications, feedback, and the ability to instantly slide open social media in 2 taps, regardless of time of day.
Plus, a ton of people charge overnight, not giving a shit about battery degradation.
It seems like you’ve been asleep for 15 years if that’s the version of Android your phone is running

are there modern phones that cant have their alarm sound changed?
Far more reliable than modern smartphones. My last 2 just kill alarm randomly to save battery.

Isn’t that why most modern phones have an adaptive charging feature to trickle charge overnight to be full by morning/your alarm?
It’s not a bullet proof solution, although it helps, yeah.
It’s an old meme but it checks out sir.
