Just a stranger trying things.

Oh yes the 2.0 was also great! They added the rewind feature which is pretty cool.
Both of them can work on the steam deck, though they don’t out of the box.
For dirt you have to add a launch option WINE_CPU_TOPOLOGY=4

And for dirt 2 you need to add a fix for Xbox live.

You’re a gem of a contributor, love the style and content and thank you for making this specifically for Lemmy, much appreciated! :)
Edit: and regarding what I’m playing lately, I’m playing Colin McRae Dirt from 2007 which I recently managed to get working on the steam deck. A fun racing game!
What issues do you encounter when you say they “don’t work right”?
How reliable is sleep? Does it actually go to sleep? Is the battery drain in sleep acceptable? Does it come out of sleep without issue? Is it fast to go to sleep and resume from sleep?
My experience with the steam deck has been absolutely stellar regarding sleep, to the point is has been a game changer. So fast to pick up for a quick game and put back to sleep even if playing just for a minute. It’s reliable and the battery drain is acceptable maybe (roughly 10% per 24h but didn’t measure it explicitly).
Oh I didn’t mean to ask for the link, I just meant to get more information about what you were doing with it, totally understandable! Anyway, cool project!
Oh very interesting! How cool :) Do you then host some kind of website for people to view your animated progress in real time as you run?
Yes!! I wish there were more open source options to interface with fitness trackers and smart watches… I’m upset about all this proprietary crap forcing you to share your data with the manufacturer and depend on their availability and goodwill to access our data… Very frustrating :(
There are great app recommendations here. Perhaps not the habit tracking type, but I love FitoTrack for tracking my runs. No social, no BS, just pure local metrics. Not perfect but entirely usable and serves its purpose.

Edit: what I love most about all these apps is that they are so lightweight. I have so many apps today which are well above 100MB, sometimes around 500MB and I’m not talking games.
This is so outrageous to me. All of these open source apps by comparison are 10MB or less. Absolutely beautiful.
I find this to be great and am particularly comforted by the following:
Can my SteamOS Compatibility test results be worse than Deck Verified?
No. SteamOS Compatibility results will all be the same or higher than Steam Deck Verified results.
If it were throttling, you would see reduced clock speeds and/or reduced power. However, I’m not seeing any graphs for frequencies and power. Have you checked?
If you don’t know what tool to use you could check LACT: https://github.com/ilya-zlobintsev/LACT
I think the requested salary amount plays a big role. If a typical 100k annual role was rejected on salary misalignments despite requesting 60k, I would be much more critical of the company.
If you’re talking about the latest proposal to hamper encryption, it didn’t pass.
