Yeah. I don’t see too many people citing Shakespeare for the estimated 1700 words he popularized or invented. Of course many of those words were created by someone else and Shakespeare picked them up from the common vernacular and started using them in his plays.
But that’s how it works. That’s how language works. Nobody owns it.
