How is the slight amount of aid they sent any proof of trying to stop it? They also could’ve come out against Netanyahu at any time, or forced his hand by stopping the delivering or fast tracking of weapons (by using the US’s own laws) but he didn’t. It was very clearly a lie that they were working tirelessly for a ceasefire.
It would be a lie if they said they tried every avenue possible, but they didn’t. They did try with less effective strategies and they should be lambasted for their ineffectiveness but not for “lying they were working tirelessly”. Those are two different standards.
Okay, so you’re just playing with words, like a djinn or the devil in every movie they’re in lol. A genocide is happening my dude. We all knew what they meant when they kept trying to say they were working for a ceasefire and what they were trying to portray. If they had an intern write a character a day in an eventual handwritten note they would snail mail to Netanyahu’s office after a year and a half asking them to politely please stop the attacks, then you’d consider that as them “working everyday” for the ceasefire, when we would know they weren’t? Miss me with that shit.
They’re not really trying at all for something if they’re not using easily available options. If I went to work and said I got nothing done this for two years because I needed some report from some other team that I never actually asked for directly and never emailed them about, it would be fair if everyone thought I lied in my performance review about how hard I worked. That’s essentially what this former Israeli ambassador revealed, even though we all kind of knew it anyway.
“What happened,” a senior Israeli government official told Channel 14, regarded as a mouthpiece for Netanyahu, “is that Witkoff delivered a stern message from the incoming president of the United States, who unequivocally demanded the deal’s conclusion.”
Writing in the daily newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth this week, Nadav Eyal summed up the situation confronting Israel’s prime minister and his closest aides. “Netanyahu … suddenly came to recognise precisely where it is that they stand with the new American president. They came to realise that Trump speaks at dictation pace, and they will never be able to outflank him from the right. Trump, once again, wants a deal.”
The Guardian
Trump and Co also put pressure not to allow a deal during the Biden admin so that there wouldn’t be any shared credit. Netanyahu and the Israeli government went along with it because they thought they could get a better deal and so far that looks to be the case considering there hasn’t been any pushback since they violated the ceasefire that was in place and escalated the genocide in the last few months including blocking all aid since shortly after Trump took office.

Biden had years to get a ceasefire done and never once demanded it. You can’t deny that. The only reason Trump was able to interfere is because Biden took forever, and there was no reason to take the Biden deal because they knew what they would get with Biden - absolute freedom to do whatever they wanted and he wouldn’t do anything if they slow rolled it out interfered with the deal. The Biden admin made that obvious and Israel here has confirmed it. The ceasefire failing is awful but we would have never got one in the first place if Biden was still President. And the genocide has lways been escalating. They were already restricting aid during Biden, that’s why they tried to do that stupid pier thing that failed, even though they could have demanded Israel open up the roads for aid trucks. It’s always been steadily increasing in more destruction, less aid, more dead journalists, more dead UNRWA and other aid workers, etc. It’s the same deal as before just in a Trumpian instead of Biden fashion.

Contrast that with Trump who came in and immediately started demanding a ceasefire deal. Trump! The biggest fucking biggest idiot in the world. It’s how they got one done, even if it only lasted a short time, it was some relief for a bit.
Bide never demanded shit.

Miss me with that revisionist history.
