    I don’t think that is how the song went, the guy who was afraid to fly ended up getting on a plane, which crashed just like he was afraid it would.

    Mr. Play-It-Safe was afraid to fly
    He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye
    He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
    And as the plane crashed down
    He thought, “Well, isn’t this nice?”

      Perhaps it’s supposed to be ironic that the one time he took the risk was the time it crashed

      Just because he waited his whole life for the flights doesn’t mean he didn’t chicken out at the last minute and take a train.
