I’m surprised nobody’s mentioned The Critic yet. It was a good show that was screwed over by two networks. Another one is Dilbert, which was based on the comic strip. I think Scott Adams was less involved with it than the strip which made it better (plus he wasn’t as insane back then).

I’ve at least heard of 13 out of the 27 listed. Only seriously watched like 3 of them though.

I miss oblongs. Sucks it only lasted like 2 season.

I don’t know if it’s the most obscure or deep cut but my favorite vote goes to Moral Orel. It gets dark in a way that doesn’t look like it.

Billy and Mandy and Duck Dodgers imo don’t belong to this list

Surprised you didn’t add the MTV one such as AEon Flux, The Head, The Maxx. Aeon in particular is a favorite of mine, watching it is very wtf. I think it should belong to this list.

Drawn Together was hilarious. It ended because sponsors were too uncomfortable advertising alongside it. It could never get made today.

The Fuccons. they’re Fuccon fantastic!

edit: I did some more digging on The Fuccons and they were a short episodic skit on a longer running Japanese show called “Vermilion Pleasure Night”. it’s a really good representation of early 2000s adult entertainment humor highly niche but entertaining enough with dark humor.

I don’t see Aeon Flux mentioned yet. The Maxx is very good too. Duckman I remember being hilarious, but I dunno if starring Jason Alexander counts as a deep cut.
