I actually have the same problem since a couple of days! Got that error with Age of Empires 2 and It takes two. Changed AoE2 to Proton 9 and it worked. No idea what’s going on here… Linux Mint with a GTX 1660 Super.

Yep, that’s absolutely true. They mentioned LMDE however, which is based on Debian, meaning it’s independent from Canonical.
