Laptops no longer have extension slots. You used to be able to buy cards for specific purposes and slot them in. Modern laptops have lost this, and most laptops are not self-serviceable, so any cellular modern you get today is going to be an external peripheral.
Where are you finding laptops with integrated cellular chips?

Yeah, irresistible force is the version I know. Now I’m wondering if there are even more versions. Are they regional deviations?

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from history, it’s that the monarchs who didn’t constantly plot and scheme were at risk to being overthrown by their noble subjects. I hate politics; I hate incessant meetings, and being a monarch always sounds like just constant meetings, all day, every day. Everyone wants to talk to you, get something from you, scheme with you; and it they aren’t scheming with you, you really have to worry, because they’re off scheming against you.
It sounds tedious and horrible.
Depends on the onion. A sweet onion, like a vidalia, is almost edible for me. We eat green onions raw all the time, and red onions raw, in small amounts, on salads. It’s just volume that makes onions challenging. And age. Onions get more potent as they age.
But I’d eat a fresh, raw Vidalia; I wouldn’t enjoy it, but it wouldn’t exactly be suffering.
People in the leisure industry in the US are going to do well. With the low value of the dollar, more people are going to choose to vacation in the US, and it makes vacationing in the US more attractive to foreigners. If they choose to ignore their government’s travel advisories about the US, that is.
Given that Trump is in the leisure industry, this is no surprise. In down markets, staycations (or, vacationing within the country) always go up. It may be the one industry that sees an uptick in business.
Say what? Which part?
There’s a NIP (or several, probably) about Lightning, but all NIPs after NIP-0 are optional. Nobody has to support, process, or transact Lightning. Nodes do no cryptocoin processing, unless they’re designed for it, and mostv aren’t. It uses cryptography, but so does Lemmy: the “s” in https is for SSL, which is cryptography.
I’ve run Nostr nodes, and I’ll probably use Nostr in my next project as the message broker for a networked game; the protocol is simple, nodes are simple, lightweight, and trivial to run, and most can be configured to federate with whichever set (or no set) of other nodes. It’s far easier to run Nostr nodes that don’t participate in the whole Lightning cryptocurrency part than it is to make them exchanges.
So, why do you say that it’s intentionally wasteful? Matrix and ActivityPub are far more wasteful, aggressively replicating data between federated servers. Even “lightweight” AP nodes are massive consumers of CPU and storage just because of how chatty they are. Nostr nodes are positively eco-friendly by comparison.
I know. It’s such a nice protocol, too.
