I don’t have any real disagreement, but I think the problem is capitalism. The abuses in sex work are more visceral, but capitalism will create horrors for a few pennies.

capitalism guarantees it will always be more profitable to be immoral.
i keep repeating it but it’s so simple and not said enough.
if company A is concerned about morality and company B isn’t, and they’re both selling the same thing, company B will make more profit… they will eventually destroy company A.
even with companies that advertise being super conscientious and make it part of their brand, it’s going to be more profitable to pretend to be than to actually be.
so, buying from giant corporations will always be more evil than buying from small, good groups… and will always be cheaper.
and of course, this applies to porn.
from what i’ve read in AMA’s and such from ex-porn victims, the business model is basically trick them into signing disclaimers, drug and rape them, and then don’t pay them what they were told.
i can’t watch regular porn anymore… not that it’s super healthy anyways… but with the big companies, you’re basically watching videos of a crime.
even with sites like OF, people will pay a lot more for more fucked up stuff… stuff that damages your body… family and friends eventually find out and it fucks up lives in ways they didn’t expect….

there’s no disclaimer about “eventually when you have kids, they’ll be picked on because they’ll find out their mom did porn… everyone at the PTA will gossip and know, and you’ll be treated with disrespect forever”.
