Moment of appreciation for Bryan Cranston, afaik just a good person all around. Top tier role model on how to be a non-problematic man. o7

      non-problematic

I mean, I don’t hate Bryan Cranston. In fact I still like him a lot… but I have some bad news.

Now he at least apologized for it and seems earnestly sorry. And doesn’t even remember saying it. But I think this goes to show that basically no one is “non-problematic”.

I mean that’s pretty minor dude. I didn’t even know we were considering “fey” a slur and I’m queer.

Seems like a one-time thing, if he had a pattern of being a POS it would be different.

Fey was used sometimes back in the day, but like it was fucken sparse even then. Honestly I legit wonder if he was going for something specific with a farefolk comparison cause that seems weirdly more likely.

Exactly. I’ve always thought it was a pretty neutral adjective for a nonbinary person. Shit, if someone called me “fey” I’d be pleased as punch.

Edit: as a lifelong nerd who’s only ever heard it to mean “elflike”

Its not really that fey is a slur (IDK if it is and I’m bi) but that he said “That’s the problem” afterward. Like, saying its unfortunate that hes the gay dude of the power rangers and that the gay guy got named after him is a problem. Its a very “your dad is kind of homophobic” level but its still shitty.

Is that a word anyone uses? While I had no idea it was considered a slur, I also don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone use it.

Absurdness. Hardly what sane people consider problematic behaviour, let alone bad news.

This is firmly in the category of shit happens, and nothing more.

With this classy response of his it’s almost better for his perceived character than when he didn’t say it.
